An Italian Association organizes a contest of ideas with the title: Alternative strategies of the way of living in nature. 

The contest is finalized to the selection of a "prototype" of temporary shelter to build quickly and low cost, that have to be essential and in harmony with the carsic environment, using the existing resources adaptable to such purpose (natural and not) and working on the morphology of the places (natural shelter, cave, subsidence). The installation has to be able to be assembled in 24 hours and dismounted in 12 hours. Maximum dimensions: 2,5 m x 2,5 m x 2,5 m H. A kit of first necessity, a map of the zone with the indications of the existing services (libraries, internet points, museums, galleries and public toilets and services) must be added too.. The Contest is open Italians and foreigners under 40. 

Prize for the best project: 

- Euro 2000, 00 

- Hospitality during the realization of the project in San Martino del Carso , Italy . The author of the selected project is invited to  direct and to participate in the execution of the work and, for this aim he will be informed about the calendar of the workshop.

CONTEST FOR A GARDEN - ITALY 

Deadline: February 28 th 2009 

An Italian firm announces a contest of ideas for the planning of a garden that will highly remain as testimony of a suggestive event: the burial of the 10 objects, winners of the contest "The most beautiful things of the world". The 10 objects will be sent to the future, to the archaeol ogists that will perhaps find them again, among the wonder of their contemporaries, in some thousands of years. Insofar the garden will have to operate on the public an emotional release, a vague yelding of the reason, a smile. The garden will have a surface of around 160 mqs; it approximately has a quadrilateral form: short sides of 8-9 mt, long sides around the 19 mt.  The garden will be realized in Lerici ( La Spezia , Italy ) inside a public park, 20- 30 meters away from the sea. It will be inaccessible from the public because it will remain surrounded by the actual hedge. Its construction can foresee the simple use of grassy arboreal essences and/or total or partial   flooring of the area, with material proper for the public use. It is allowed the construction of manufactured articles in masonry, wood, marble, metals and other durable material,  the installation of elements of urban furniture, illumination implants, fountains, water's mirrors, enclosures, etc. The general cost of the realization of the garden ( all the expenses included) won't have to overcome the 10.000 Euro.  

The winner  will receive a prize of Euro 2.000,00.

CONTEST OF PHOTO - SPAIN

A Spanish Institution announces a contest of photo with the title: "Capture Dance" where the dance, in all of its formalities, will be the theme and composition of the photos. Professionals and amateurs can participate to the context. Maximum of 1work for author.   

The selected works and prize winners will be exhibited at the Theater in Madrid by 29 of April to June 8 th 2009.

VIDEO COMPETITION - ITALY

An Italian cultural association organizes, the twelfth edition of the Prize " Invents a film". Theme: THE DREAMS. The registration is free and open to everybody. The films will be projected in Lenola , Italy ,  from July 29 to August 2 nd 2009. For the Italian authors the first prize consists in technical means for the realization of a new short film for a value of around 10.000 Euro. The second and the third classified, the best director, the best screen-play, the best interpreter, the best cutting,  the best original sonorous column, the best photo will be also rewarded.
